School Uniform

The school policy is to strongly encourage the wearing of school uniform.  We hope that parents will feel able to support the uniform policy.  The school colours are red, white and grey.  School uniform should be worn 3 times a week.  Active uniform should be worn twice a week on PE days.  Teachers will email parents at the beginning of the school year to inform you of the days your child will do PE.  In Reception children only need to wear active uniform once a week as they only have one PE lesson a week.

School Uniform

Black or grey trousers, skirts, pinafore dress, long length shorts

White or red polo t-shirt or shirt

Red sweatshirt or cardigan with or without the school logo

Dark shoes or trainers

Warm winter coat of any colour

Active Uniform

Black, grey or navy joggers, leggings or shorts.  These should be plain not football or branded.

Plain red or white t-shirt

Red sweatshirt, hoodie or cardigan with or without the school logo

Dark trainers

Hair

We understand that children want to express their individuality but extreme hair styles are now allowed.  Pupils with hair longer than shoulder length should have it tied back for health and safety reasons.

Jewellery

Jewellery of any kind should not be worn in school for health and safety reasons.  If a child is wearing jewellery a member of staff will ask your child to remove it and will keep it in the school office until the end of the day.  (This excludes medical bracelets/necklaces).  Small stud earrings may be worn, but must be removed for PE and swimming.  If your child has recently had their ears pieced and cannot remove them then they must be covered with tape for PE.  If your child is going to have their ears pierced we would encourage this to be done in the Summer holidays to give them time to heal before returning to school.

Footwear

If your child comes in to school in boots during bad weather please bring suitable shoes for them to change into.  Children may wear any dark coloured shoes or trainers that do not have a high heel.  Strappy sandals, open backed sandals or flip flops are dangerous and must not be worn.  Please clearly mark all footwear and clothing with your child's name. Reception children will need to bring in a pair of named wellies that will be kept in school.

You will be informed of your child's PE day.  Please ensure that they come to school in their Active Uniform on this day.  All children should have a change of shoes such as wellies in school every day as we use the field all year round.
