In English we are starting our new text The Owl Who Was Afraid of the Dark by Jill Tomlinson.

This week is our last week on The Day the Crayons Quit. For your final challenge you are going to imagine you are an item from our classroom (a pencil, crayon, scissors, glue stick, your water bottle) What would they say to us if they could write us a letter? Do we look after them well or do we treat them badly? Do we use them carefully or do we use them for the wrong reason? Would they be happy with us or would they have some suggestions for how we can use them better?

Create a poster to tell people how they can stay safe when using the internet.

 Make sure you continue to read lots of different books - talk about what has happened, your favourite character, your favourite part of the story, is it similar to another book you have read? If it is a non-fiction text how is this different? What features can you find? Do you have a favourite page?

PE

Our PE days are on Wednesdays and Fridays - please ensure that your child has their full PE kit in school for these days. When the weather is fine we will try and get outside as much as possible so please ensure that your child has some outdoor footwear.

 

 

 Spring Term 1

We began our first week back with our science week looking at Everyday Materials and their uses. We completed four different experiments throughout the week testing absorbency, waterproofing and elasticity. 

 

 

Topic Hook Day

For our Seaside topic hook day the children followed instructions for how to make their own lighthouses. The children painted their own seaside pictures and wrote a postcard from their favourite seaside resort. We also  used iPads to research information about seaside resorts around the UK.
