Year 2

Autumn 2 2018

We started the topic by reading the poem ‘Chocolate’ my Michael Rosen. While it was being read all the children held a piece of chocolate in their hand, and by the end it had all melted, which meant they had to lick it off!! The children then thought of words to describe chocolate and we made a class list. They then used some of the words in their own poem.

We started reading Charlie and Chocolate factory, which the children are enjoying, although there are no surprises in it for them as most of them have seen the film.

Mr Willy Wonka asked the children to design a brand new exciting chocolate bar, which they loved doing. They thought about what ingredients they would need, wrote instructions of how to make it and during the last week of term we made some of them and tasted them. Yummy!
